Super Style

With the Super Bowl coming up this weekend, I thought I’d renew my post from last year, and give some updated tips and tricks on how to look cute on game day.
Like I said before, TJ Maxx and Marshall’s are great resources for finding team merchandise at affordable prices. And, whether you’re shopping there or directly from the football team’s site, don’t be afraid to check the kids department for team jerseys, sweatshirts and tees. Most kids size large and extra large fit us adult ladies just as well as the regular women's sizes, but for a fraction of the price.
And if you’re not into wearing team merch, or you don’t have time to get it, you can still rep your favorite team in style by adding their colors into your outfit. If you’re rooting for the Eagles, try a pair of cool black jeans with an emerald green top, adding some gold hoop earrings for a simple but impactful touch. If the Chiefs are your team, I’d suggest a pair of light wash jeans with a cute slouchy red sweater.
Another way to incorporate your favorite team into your wardrobe are accessories. A lot of brands are expanding their repitoire of team styles, and brands that you wouldn’t expect to be selling professional sports branded items are doing so in a really unique way. Culture Kings offers team hats in a variety of cool and feminine styles. Lele Sadoughi sells the most beautiful headbands, and has tons of pro sports styles. This is a way to rep your favorite team in a more subtle way that is super chic.
Another option is to raid your boyfriend, husband, brother, or dad’s closet and nab a team jersey or t-shirt that they’re not planning on wearing. If it’s a jersey, wear it with jeans, and tuck the front of the jersey into your jeans to create a defined waist, and it will give a slouchy cool look. If it’s a t-shirt, knot it in the front or back to make it more figure flattering and get crop top vibes, pairing it with jeans or leggings.
As a Patriots fan and Tom Brady enthusiast, I can speak from experience. I was privileged to have many opportunities to dress up and root for my team on Super Bowl Sunday. But whether your favorite team is playing this Sunday or not, the Super Bowl is a great opportunity to spend time with friends and family, enjoy great food, a good game, entertaining commercials, and, of course, awesome fashion. Life is a runway, so what makes game day any different?
Hope you enjoyed these tips! Until next time, stay fabulous!
