Mother’s Day Gift Guide

Mother’s Day is right around the corner! Which brings us to the annual question: what do we get for the woman in our lives who gave us life and means everything to us? And while the old adage of “it’s the thought that counts” is certainly true, if you’re looking for some help on how to get mom something other than the traditional gifts of flowers or jewelry, you’ve come to the right place!

Option 1

Get her something pampering. Not necessarily a massage. What I sometimes do for my mom on Mother’s Day is get her a gift certificate to get her hair done at her salon. She’s going to go there anyway, so why not get her something I know she loves? Springing for the next cut and/or color could be the perfect way to give your mom a treat she’ll be sure to look forward to.

Option 2

Think about an activity or hobby your mom loves or does often. Does she love making pizzas? Get her an awesome pizza stone or oven. Maybe she’s an exercise nut and loves going out for power walks. A great pair of walking sneakers could be the perfect way to show her your love. If crafting is her thing, you could get her a gift certificate to the local craft store, or potentially go there yourself and get some of her favorite crafting supplies, and gather them together in an adorable basket for her to enjoy.

Option 3

Maybe your mom has a favorite food or beverage. A few pounds of her favorite coffee and a mug from her favorite TV show (or favorite quote, etc.) to go with it could be a good choice. If your budget allows, or you have a sibling to share the cost with, you could even get her a fancy coffee maker or something along those lines. Again, if your mom is a cook, you could make her homemade vanilla extract or something unique like that. Or, if she has a favorite restaurant, you could take her there and treat her to her favorite meal.

Option 4

Let the fashionista in you loose and get her something she could use in her wardrobe. Maybe her handbag has seen better days. Or perhaps she’s been talking about wanting to get a new dress for the summer. Maybe hats are her thing, or she’s had her eye on a certain pair or style of shoe. Replacing something she uses a lot is a great way to update her style, and is a thoughtful way to show her how much you care. Nothing says “I love you” like gifting a fabulous handbag that’s just her style, or a dress that makes her feel beautiful.

Hopefully that helps get the creative juices flowing! Until next time, stay fabulous!
