Happy Galentine's Day!

Happy Galentine’s Day! I love this tradition of celebrating friendship among us ladies. It reminds us that we’re strong, beautiful women, and our friendships with each other are special and worthy of commemorating. Yes, our relationships with the men in our life are incredibly important (especially those of you who have significant others). But a day dedicated to reveling with our girl tribe is pretty special, too. I can’t tell you how many times in my life I was in a situation, and my girls helped get me through. These are the women who share life’s ups and downs with us. They laugh with us when we’re happy, and engage in retail therapy with us when we’re sad. Especially in these past few years, dealing with Lyme and an autoimmune condition, my girls helped buoy me up during the rough times and reminded me that I was beautiful and I got this. Now that I’m on the healthy road, I look back on those times with fondness and immense appreciation. Sometimes they came over with a pizza. Others just to listen and hang out. Or going out to a restaurant by the water impromptu to temper a rough day. Every single time they left I felt better than ever, feeling stronger and better able to conquer whatever obstacles were in my way.

But even if you don’t have a tribe - maybe you just have that one friend who’s ride or die. That’s just as special; they say if you have one good friend, you’re golden. And as a fashionista, I can tell you, there’s no better accessory than a best friend who has your back. It packs more of a punch, taking on the world knowing there’s someone out there who has your back. That confidence shines through and has more of an effect than any sparkly necklace ever could. So here’s to you - whoever is reading this post. Consider yourselves members of my girl tribe. A unique relationship, but a special one nonetheless. I toast you and share my gratitude to you for reading my blog and coming on this journey with me. And a shoutout to my irl ladies - thank you for having my back and supporting me so steadfastly. I can only hope I do the same for you. Lord knows I try. So cheers, ladies! This day is for us! No matter what you have going on today - whether you’re getting together with your girls for drinks or just calling or texting them to say hey - make sure you carve out some time for yourself and do something nice, even if it’s just a glass of wine and your favorite series, or a little splurge at your favorite store. You deserve it!
